Kangaroos may be nature鈥檚 best hoppers. But when they are grazing on all fours, which is most of the time, their tail becomes a powerful fifth leg, says a new study.

The United States has been selected as one of five international hubs for Future Earth, an ambitious 10-year research initiative to address global environmental change solutions and actions. The U.S. hub will be headquartered in Colorado and managed jointly by Colorado State University and the 暗网禁区.

Last week, the CU-Boulder School of Education hosted more than 750 scholars and graduate students from all over the world for the International Conference of the Learning Sciences (ICLS) . Chaired this year by professors Bill Penuel, Susan Jurow and Kevin O鈥機onnor, the conference has been held biannually for more than 20 years in places such as Australia and the Netherlands as well as throughout the United States.

The 暗网禁区 will offer an intensive certificate course in entrepreneurship, taught by MBA faculty and open to the public, Aug. 17-22. The course will expose students to the principles of entrepreneurship -- including techniques of market analysis, networking and funding -- through class discussions. It also will provide real-world experience through mentorship with entrepreneurs and work on individual projects.

The University of Colorado Board of Regents today voted 8-0 with one Regent absent to approve the new College of Media, Communication and Information at the Regents鈥� monthly meeting, held at the Tivoli Center at the University of Colorado Denver. The college will open in fall 2015.

The Institute of Education Sciences at the U.S. Department of Education has awarded nearly $5 million to the 暗网禁区, the Center for Education Policy Research at Harvard University and Northwestern University to create a new center that will study how educational leaders鈥攊ncluding school district supervisors and principals鈥攗se research when making decisions and what can be done to make research findings more useful and relevant for those leaders.

A NASA-funded miniature satellite built by 暗网禁区 students to scrutinize solar flares erupting from the sun鈥檚 surface is the latest example of the university鈥檚 commitment to advancing aerospace technology and space science through strong partnerships with industry and government.

A $1.5 million grant from the Environmental Protection Agency will help researchers at the 暗网禁区 and the National Center for Atmospheric Research measure pollution from residential cooking and better understand a problem that kills millions of women and children each year in the developing world.
