Rain did not tamp down people’s pride as the extended CU Boulder community celebrated the accomplishments of the Class of 2023 in one of the university’s longest standing and grandest traditions.

At the CU Boulder Center for Leadership, experiential learning aligns with our philosophy of developing leaders—the best way to learn to lead is to practice leading, and the spring experiential leadership intensive provided just that.

For three years at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, CU Boulder students enrolled in "Experimental Physics I" spent an estimated 56,000 hours analyzing the behavior of hundreds of solar flares. Their results could help astrophysicists understand how the sun's corona reaches temperatures of millions of degrees Fahrenheit.
