Joany Tisdale is a Teaching Assistant Professor for the Integrated Design Engineering program.ÌýÌý
Joany earned a MS degree in Mechanical Engineering from MIT and a Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering from Auburn University.Ìý She hasÌýa PhD in Civil Engineering with a Civil Systems focus and a certificate in Global Engineering from CU Boulder.Ìý Her research investigates sustainability integration into engineering curricula.Ìý She worked as an engineer for more than 5 years at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory.
Joany teaches First-Year Engineering Projects (GEEN 1400) and Engineering Tools & Analysis (GEEN 2010).Ìý She has previously taught Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer, Fluid Mechanics and Physics.ÌýJoany was awarded the GPTI Teaching Excellence Award (2022) and an ASEE Engineering Educator Award (2022).
