The Office of Financial Aid provides aid for students interested in Summer Session. Summer aid is typically limited to your remaining loan eligibility from the previous school year. Some grants and work-study are available in summer to eligible students. 

The amount of aid you can receive depends on the number of credits you enroll in and your aid eligibility. To find out how much summer financial aid you could receive, complete the in Buff Portal beginning in late February.

Students receiving aid are expected to be familiar with , including how adjustments to your schedule can change aid, academic requirements to keep aid, what happens to aid if you withdraw, and more.

Financial Aid Refunds

Financial aid, with the exception of work-study, will be applied directly to the your tuition and fee bill, and any funds exceeding the bill will be refunded to your bank account by direct deposit approximately three days before classes begin.

Depending on which sessions you take, financial aid refunds will be deposited around the following dates: May 5, May 24, July 2 and July 28.

Note: These dates are tentative and subject to change. Visit the Bursar’s website for the most up-to-date information. No refunds processed on June 30.

Student Employment

In addition to financial aid, you can find a student job to help pay for college expenses. Visit the to learn more about finding a job, pay ranges, and employment opportunities.

Special Populations

Non-degree students typically are not eligible for financial aid. However, if you are taking preparatory courses for a graduate program, or second undergraduate program, federal loans may be available on a limited basis. Visit the financial aid for non-degree students page for more information.

Additionally, non-degree students can apply for the through Continuing Education.
