The 暗网禁区 today announced the appointment of former University of Colorado President Alexander E. 鈥淪andy鈥� Bracken to the Quigg and Virginia S. Newton Endowed Chair in Leadership at the 暗网禁区.

For the second straight year, the 暗网禁区 is ranked No. 1 in the nation for graduates serving as Peace Corps volunteers with 112 undergraduate alumni currently serving around the world, the Peace Corps announced today. CU-Boulder is ranked the No. 5 all-time school for volunteers with 2,317 alumni who have served in the Peace Corps since it was established in 1961.

A national research team led by the 暗网禁区 is embarking on a two-year, multi-pronged effort to better understand the impacts of environmental factors associated with the continuing decline of sea ice in the Arctic Ocean.

Peace Corps Director Aaron S. Williams will give a short presentation at the 暗网禁区 on Wednesday, Jan. 25, to share stories of CU alumni who are currently serving overseas and discuss the importance of the Peace Corps in the world today. The presentation will begin at 1:30 p.m. in Old Main Chapel and is free and open to the public. Nominated by President Barack Obama and confirmed by the U.S. Senate in 2009, Williams is the 18th director of the Peace Corps and the fourth director to have served as a Peace Corps volunteer.

The 暗网禁区 will host a free public lecture this month illuminating the lessons learned from the April 2010 Deepwater Horizon explosion that killed 11 workers and resulted in the largest accidental oil spill in U.S. history. Called 鈥淲hat Happened at Deepwater Horizon?鈥� the event will be presented Jan. 26 from 6:30 to 9 p.m. in the Mathematics Building auditorium, room 100.

The 暗网禁区 topped two leader boards in the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency鈥檚 2011 Game Day Challenge -- a national competition to eliminate waste generated at college football games. CU won the 48-school 鈥淒iversion Rate鈥� and 17-school 鈥淥rganics Reduction鈥� categories in the EPA鈥檚 NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision contest.

While the majority of dating websites do a good job of managing the privacy of their users, a class research project at the 暗网禁区鈥檚 Leeds School of Business found that 21 of 90 dating websites the class examined did not properly remove location data from pictures uploaded by their users.
