New Career Services program helps hone job-seeking skills

CU-Boulder students can now start polishing their interviewing skills and resumes early in their college careers to increase their chances of finding a job once they’re ready to graduate. A new certificate offered through CU-Boulder’s Career Services office called the CU Buffs Professional Program is open to all students, undergraduate and graduate, with a minimum GPA of 2.0.

CU-Boulder awarded DARPA cooperative agreement to assess mechanisms of drugs and chemical agents

The has been awarded a cooperative agreement worth up to $14.6 million from the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) to develop a new technological system to rapidly determine how drugs and biological or chemical agents exert their effects on human cells. The project, called the Subcellular Pan-Omics for Advanced Rapid Threat Assessment, or SPARTA, will be conducted by an interdisciplinary CU-Boulder team led by Research Assistant Professor William Old of the chemistry and biochemistry department.

As the semester begins, all faculty members, all research personnel, as well as staff who support department compliance reporting processes, and students engaged in research (i.e. all personnel responsible for the design, conduct, or reporting of research ) are reminded of the requirement to complete a Disclosure of External Professional Activities (DEPA) annually, and to update DEPAS, as needed, within 30 days of any status change.

Chancellor's Corner: Title IX review report finds CU-Boulder meeting legal requirements

CU-Boulder today is releasing an external review report of its policies and procedures regarding sexual harassment, sexual assault and compliance with Title IX. The report found that the “University’s policies and practices satisfy current legal requirements.” While we are pleased to be in compliance with the federal law, we are a university that wants to exceed expectations. Leading the way in VAWA rulemaking and implementation

CU-Boulder is helping to set the standard on implementation of the requirements of the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), and is part of the conversation on the national stage. The Office of Victim Assistance Director Jessica Ladd-Webert is serving on the Negotiated Rulemaking Committee for VAWA, and the university is months and years ahead of many implementation guidelines and best practices.
