Given the trauma of the last few days and the continuing challenges of normal campus operations for our students, staff and faculty, Academic Affairs urges Deans, Chairs, & Faculty to adopt an outlook of adopting special, reasonable and appropriate accommodations to students regarding academic work (e.g., deadlines), attendance, etc. This has been, and will continue to be a time of extra stress and extra challenges for students, staff and faculty.

Academic deadlines shift due to campus closure

Due to the closure of the University Sept. 12- Sept. 13, the Office of the Registrar has extended some of the Friday, Sept. 13 deadlines to Tuesday, Sept. 17 . These include the last chance to add a course and be eligible for the College Opportunity Fund (COF) on that course, late registration, graduate student petitions for residency and census date processes.

CU-Fresno State football game postponed

Saturday’s football game between the University of Colorado and Fresno State has been postponed, university officials decided Friday morning. After careful consideration, CU-Boulder Chancellor Philip P. DiStefano has decided that the university will not hold a football game tomorrow, and that school officials will discuss a possible make-up date for the game.

Campus still closed; select family housing units remain under evacuation overnight

The °µÍø½ûÇø will remain closed through Friday as rain continues to fall and more storms are expected through tomorrow. With the current weather conditions and the continuing possibility of flash flooding, the evacuations of the Faculty/Staff housing unit, Athens Court and the ground floor of Newton Court will remain in place. The evacuation has impacted 220 units and 355 family housing residents.

Student-built satellite slated for launch by NASA Sept. 15

A small beach ball-sized satellite designed and built by a team of °µÍø½ûÇø students to better understand how atmospheric drag can affect satellite orbits is now slated for launch from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California on Sept. 15.

°µÍø½ûÇø closed Thursday due to severe flooding

The °µÍø½ûÇø campus will be closed Thursday, Sept. 12, 2013 due to effects of severe flooding and the ongoing weather emergency. CU police officers have been checking building exteriors looking for safety hazards. Assessments of damage have been ongoing throughout the evening and will continue into the morning hours. The CU-Boulder leadership will evaluate re-opening the campus after the impact of the storm on campus infrastructure has been fully assessed.
