Homelessness Seminar To Be Held At CU-Boulder Dec. 2

A public seminar to promote homelessness awareness will be held at the University of Colorado at Boulder on Saturday, Dec. 2, from 9 a.m. to noon. Organized and sponsored by CU-Boulder students in the Presidents Leadership Class program, the seminar is titled "Inform and Empower: A Seminar on Homelessness," and will be held in the Muenzinger Psychology building auditorium, room E050.

Reward Offered For Missing CU-Boulder Computer Server

The University of Colorado at Boulder Police Department is investigating the theft of a computer server from the Engineering Center on the CU-Boulder campus. The theft occurred in the early morning hours of Saturday, Nov. 18, said CU Police Lt. John Kish. The server is an Aspen System Dual 2.66 GHz unit and is approximately three years old.

CU Professor Explores Influence Of Secular And Religious Ideologies On The War On Terror

Secular and religious ideologies played a major role in helping the Bush administration explain and sell the war on terror to the American public, according to University of Colorado at Boulder religious studies Professor Ira Chernus in his new book "Monsters to Destroy: The Neoconservative War on Terror and Sin." Chernus argues that the war on terror is based not on a realistic appraisal of the causes of the conflict but on "stories" that policy-makers believe about human nature and a world divided between absolute good and evil.

Author Annie Proulx To Speak At CU-Boulder On Nov. 29

Historian, Author Howard Zinn To Discuss Immigration At CU-Boulder Event

Historian, writer and social activist Howard Zinn, author of "A People's History of the United States," will speak about illegal immigration and other issues at the University of Colorado at Boulder. CU-Boulder's Cultural Events Board is sponsoring the talk, which will take place at 7 p.m. Nov. 30 in the Glenn Miller Ballroom at the University Memorial Center.
