Paid enrollment deposits for new freshmen at the University of Colorado at Boulder this fall indicate that the campus can likely expect another large freshman class in the fall of 2007. Early numbers show the class will be between 5,500 and 5,600 students. The campus enrolled 5,617 new freshmen in fall 2006, its largest freshman class ever. Final enrollment figures for fall 2007 will not be available until mid-September, about a week after the official campus census date of Sept. 14.

CU-Boulder aerospace engineering student Jason Dinges, 20, died from hantavirus complications on July 15. He was spending the summer at his parents' Park County, Colo., home at the time of his death.

Roof-integrated photovoltaic panels will be installed today by University of Colorado at Boulder students on the school's latest Solar Decathlon entry as part of a project update for the fall competition, the third of three competitions to date that CU-Boulder won previously in 2002 and 2005. The defending champions - with new student engineers at the helm - will describe what promises to be the team's most innovative Solar Decathlon entry.
