CU Police Investigating Break-In At Wardenburg Health Center

University of Colorado at Boulder Police are investigating a break-in at the campus's Wardenburg Health Center on Dec. 15 in which prescriptions that were ready for pickup may have been taken from the pharmacy. Wardenburg officials are doing an inventory to determine if any prescriptions are missing, said Cmdr. John Kish of the CU Police Department. No prescriptions were missing as of Monday.

CU-Boulder Reports Security Breach In College Of Arts And Sciences Advising Computer

University of Colorado at Boulder officials today announced that a server in the campus's Academic Advising Center was the subject of a computer attack. CU-Boulder officials said they had begun the process of notifying 17,500 individuals that their personal information - including names and Social Security numbers - might have been exposed in the attack. CU-Boulder officials are continuing to determine the extent of information exposed.

CU Wizards 'Go With The Flow' During Dec. 23 Show

Making a classroom geyser from mints and soda will be among the experiments highlighting the University of Colorado at Boulder's Dec. 23 CU Wizards show "Go With the Flow." CU-Boulder faculty member Janet deGrazia of the chemical and biological engineering department will present the show at 9:30 a.m. in Cristol Chemistry and Biochemistry room 140 on the Boulder campus. During the show, deGrazia will explore the properties of fluids. Guests will take part in experiments and learn why soap floats, how to keep the carbonation in soda and how to make "elephant snot."

CU-Boulder Professor Emeritus Gets Lifetime Achievement Award From National Scholarly Society

The National Communication Association recently named University of Colorado at Boulder Professor Emeritus John Waite Bowers one of the association's distinguished scholars. Bowers is one of three CU-Boulder professors to receive the award, which recognizes lifetime achievement in communication scholarship. The others are Gerard Hauser and Stanley Deetz.

New ATLAS Building Becomes First CU Facility To Get Top Environmental Ranking

The ATLAS building, the University of Colorado at Boulder's new technology learning center, has become the first facility in the CU system to attain a gold rating, one of the nation's highest for green building design. The Alliance for Technology, Learning and Society, or ATLAS, building has achieved the U.S. Green Building Council's gold rating under its Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design program.

CU-Boulder To Hold Winter Commencement Dec. 22

The University of Colorado at Boulder will hold its winter commencement ceremony on Friday, Dec. 22, at 9:30 a.m. in the Coors Events/Conference Center on campus. Guests should plan to be seated by 9 a.m. and early arrival is strongly suggested due to possible traffic delays. Guests also are asked not to bring large purses or bags to the ceremony, and people entering the center may be subject to search. The university ceremony is free and open to the public.
