Board of Regents approves $142 million plan for athletics facilities upgrades

The University of Colorado Board of Regents voted 9-0 Wednesday in favor of a $142 million plan to upgrade facilities for intercollegiate athletics at CU-Boulder. The plan, presented by CU athletic director Rick George, has six major features including an indoor multipurpose practice facility, transforming the second floor of Dal Ward to increase the athletic department’s academic support and a high-performance sports center to host collaborative research conducted by faculty at CU-Boulder in Integrative Physiology and researchers at the Anschutz Medical Campus.

Boulder Campus Staff Council invites you to join the 2013 staff breakfast, Thursday, Dec. 12, from 7 – 9 a.m. in the UMC Glenn Miller Ballroom. Special guests from CU service departments will be on hand, sharing information about their programs. To add to the fun, several CU-Boulder administrators and Staff Council members will be your servers. This is a free event for all Boulder campus classified and professional exempt staff. 2013 CCORE Diversity Service Recognition Awards recognize SORCE, SASC

The Diversity Service Recognition annual award, sponsored by the Chancellor's Committee on Race and Ethnicity (CCORE), formerly Chancellor's Advisory Committee on Minority Affairs (CACMA), is given to campus units to recognize their continuing efforts to create a diverse and supportive, learning, working, and living environment, as well as their commitment to promoting an understanding of multicultural issues. This award was presented by CCORE members on Nov. 13, 2013 during the Diversity Summit. There were six departments nominated this year. CCORE is honored to present the award recipients for the 2013 CCORE Diversity Service Recognition Award to two units this year; the Student Outreach and Retention Center for Equity (SORCE) and to the Student Academic Success Center (SASC)

Scientists have discovered that some ring-tailed lemurs in Madagascar regularly retire to limestone chambers for their nightly snoozes, the first evidence of the consistent, daily use of the same caves and crevices for sleeping among the world’s wild primates.
