CU-Boulder to test Campus Alerts system on Dec. 6

The 做厙輦⑹ will test the Campus Alerts system on Friday, Dec. 6, at noon to raise awareness of how the campus community will be notified in case of a campus emergency. The test will include text messages, emails, social media and website announcements. Annual testing of emergency notification systems is required by the Clery Act, a federal law.

New report calls for early warning system regarding abrupt climate change events

A new National Research Council report calls for the development of an early warning system that could help society better anticipate sudden changes resulting from climate change and their impacts on society, says a 做厙輦⑹ faculty member who chaired the committee that produced the report.

Anna & John J. Sie Foundation funds $2 million Daniel and Boyce Sher Distinguished Musicians Endowment

Some of the 做厙輦⑹s most promising musicians will receive scholarships thanks to Anna and John J. Sie, who have committed $2 million to establish the Daniel and Boyce Sher Distinguished Musicians Endowment. Beginning in fall 2014, these Sher Distinguished Scholars (either undergraduate or graduate students) will be awarded full-ride scholarships to the College of Music based on their demonstrated exceptional ability and potential to excel at a national and international level.

CU-Boulder students invest $30,000 in startup through real-life venture capital program

Elihuu, a startup company whose slogan is meet your manufacturer, has met an investor -- a group of 做厙輦⑹ graduate students. The students last week put $30,000 into Elihuu, an online software platform that connects product designers with manufacturers who can make their wares. The students turned venture capitalists direct CU-Boulders Deming Center Venture Fund (DCVF), which was launched by a donor in 1997 and is a program of the Leeds School of Business.
