CU-Boulder will respect the right of concealed carry

DISTEFANO Many of you are aware that last March the Colorado Supreme Court ruled the University of Colorado Board of Regents lacks the authority to enact any provision against the Colorado Concealed Carry law. Last week, as I’m sure you are aware, we informed the campus and the public of how the law would be implemented on campus, with provisions for concealed carry permit holders to live in graduate student apartments.

CU is welcoming students with Convocation, music fest and more

Dozens of activities await new students at the starting Aug. 23, including a welcome convocation and a “Global Jam” international food and music fest. The free events give new students a chance to get acquainted with each other, the campus and surrounding community before classes start on Aug. 27. The activities are scheduled in addition to orientation sessions that cover the details of class registration, policies and student services at each college.

CU-Boulder announces conditions for weapons in university housing

The today announced it is amending housing contracts to ask students who live in undergraduate residence halls and hold a Colorado concealed carry permit, or CCP, to forgo bringing a handgun to campus. The campus also will accommodate those who hold a CCP in a graduate student housing complex off the main campus, provided the permit holders store their weapon in a safe within their dwelling when they are not carrying it.

Today the CU-Boulder campus announced that we are amending our housing policies in order to implement the Colorado concealed carry law. Under the changes we are implementing, housing contracts will be amended for students, faculty and staff living in residence halls, asking those who possess a Colorado conceal carry permit (CCP) to forgo bringing their weapons to campus. Pac-12 Networks has launched

The Pac-12 Networks launched on Wednesday, Aug. 15 at 7 p.m. mountain time, with the debut program “Pac-12 Live” taking center stage. The new Pac-12 Network will be event-centric, with plans to broadcast 850 live events across a variety of Pac-12 sports in the first year.

Louise Vale named Vice Chancellor for Administration

Senior Vice Chancellor and Chief Financial Officer Kelly Fox has named Louise Vale as vice chancellor for administration, starting Sept. 10. Vale will supervise a division of almost 700 employees and oversee an annual operating budget of $112 million. Areas of responsibility include human resources, facilities management, public safety, emergency management, environmental health and safety, risk management, environmental sustainability, campus logistics, printing and the campus bookstore.
