CU-Boulder Offers 'Engineering Sampler' For High School Juniors, Seniors Oct. 13

High school students interested in exploring engineering as a field of study are invited to attend a free, one-day program Oct. 13 at the University of Colorado at Boulder. The CU Engineering Sampler will be held from 8:15 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. at the Engineering Center on the CU-Boulder campus. The program is open to high school juniors and seniors, as well as parents and guidance counselors.

Farewell Exhibition For CU's Sibell Wolle Fine Arts Building To Be Held Oct. 5-6

More than 5,000 alumni of the University of Colorado at Boulder's art and art history department have been invited to a farewell "TOAST" exhibition in the Sibell Wolle Fine Arts Building on Oct. 5-6. The exhibition is in recognition of the building's impending demolition and is free and open to the public. The exhibition will include a reception on Oct. 5 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and public viewing on Oct. 6 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Several artists have created exhibits in rooms of the now empty building.

"Glory Colorado!" Author To Sign Books At CU-Boulder Sept. 27 And 29

William "Bud" Davis, author of the newly released book "Glory Colorado! Volume II: A History of the University of Colorado, 1963-2000," will be on the CU-Boulder campus Thursday and Saturday for two public book signings. Davis will sign copies of the 900-page book Thursday from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the CU Book Store, located in the University Memorial Center at Broadway and Euclid Avenue. The Saturday signing is during halftime at the CU vs. Oklahoma game, which starts at 11:30 a.m. The Saturday signing will be in Folsom Stadium, Club Level.

Student "Hero" To Meet With CU Chancellor And Business Dean

Fall CU-Boulder Entering Class Among Largest And Best Qualified Ever; Overall Enrollment Size Remains Steady

The University of Colorado at Boulder welcomed a freshman class of 5,555 students this fall, 62 students shy of last year's record-setting freshman class of 5,617. The entering 2007 freshman class follows a two-year increase in freshman applications of 16 percent. Fall 2007 census figures announced today show that overall enrollment at CU-Boulder changed little from fall 2006. The campus enrolled 28,988 degree-seeking students this fall, 46 more than last year and an increase of 0.1 percent.

The winner in a student contest to develop the 2007-08 "spirit shirt" design for the University of Colorado at Boulder will be honored this Saturday, Sept. 22, at the CU vs. Miami of Ohio football game at Folsom Stadium. CU-Boulder sophomore Johnny Laychaypha created the winning design. A math and economics major, Laychaypha will receive a $250 gift certificate for the CU Bookstore, a framed copy of the printed shirt and a one-year membership to the HERD. The shirt will be sold during home football games and in the CU Bookstore.

CU-Boulder Students Get Ready To Send Solar Home To Washington, D.C., For Third Solar Decathlon

University of Colorado at Boulder students are in the final stages of preparing their solar home to defend their championship in the third international Solar Decathlon in Washington, D.C. The one-bedroom competition module, now in the final week of construction, is scheduled to depart from Bradburn Village in Westminster on Sept. 28 and arrive in the nation's capital Oct. 3.
